1 cup all-purpose flour
1 cup corn meal
1/2 cup sugar
3 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1 cup buttermilk
1/2 cup whole milk
1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
2 eggs
1/4 cup shortening

Prep. Time → 5 min

Cook Time → 35 min

1. 1. Place a 10'' cast Iron skillet, on the stove top over medium heat, and preheat for 10 mins.

2. 2.Also preheat oven to 375*

3. 3.In a big bowl, add flour, baking powder, baking soda, cornmeal, sugar, salt, mix together and set aside.

4. 4.In a another bowl, add buttermilk, whole milk, eggs, unsalted butter; mix.

5. 5.Pour the wet Ingredients into the dry Ingredients bowl. use a hand mixer, and mix to combine.

6. 6.Add the shortening into the hot skillet pan. stir till meleted; pour batter right in.

7. 7.Put in oven 375* for 25 mins till golden brown. Let cool for a bit
