Vanilla French Toast

Ingredienti per Makes 4 (2 slices per)

4 eggs
1 cup milk or half-and-half
2 Tbsp. sugar
2tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
8 slices bread(white or whole wheat)
2 Tbsp. butter or vegetable oil

Toppings:
Butter
Syrup
Powdered Sugar
Ground cinnamon

1 In a shallow bowl, beat together eggs, milk, sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Dip bread into egg mixture, coating both sides.

2 In a 12-inch skillet or on a griddle, melt 1 tbsp of butter over medium heat and spread over cooking surface. Add half the bread slices and cook for 4 to 6 minutes or until golden, turning once. Repeat with remaining butter and bread.

3 Serve with additional butter, and maple syrup. Sprinkle with powdered sugar and cinnamon.
