Chocolate drop cookies

1 ¾ cups sifted flour ¼ tsp. soda ¼ tsp. salt ½ cup butter or margarine 1/ cup sugar 1 tsp. vanilla 1 egg 2 squares unsweetened chocolate, melted 1/3 cup buttermilk or sour milk ¾ cup chopped walnuts or pecans

1. Cream butter, gradually add sugar and cream until light and fluffy. Beat in vanilla and egg. Then blend in melted chocolate. Alternately add flour mixture and buttermilk, mixing well. Fold in nuts. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto ungreased baking sheets. Bake at 350 for 10 to 12 minutes.
