French toast casserol

Casserol
1 loaf of French bread
8 eggs
2 cups whole milk
1/2 cup heavy whipping cream
3/4 cup white sugar
2 Tbsp vanilla

Topping
1/2 cup + 2 Tbsp flour
1/2 cup + 2 Tbsp firmly packed brown sugar
2 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 cup butter
Fruit if desired

1. Grease a 9x13 pan with butter or spray with cooking spray
Tear bread into chunks and lay in the dish
Whisk together eggs milk cream sugar and vanilla
Pour evenly over bread
Cover and store in fridge overnight
In another bowl, Mix together flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt
Cut butter in with pastry cutter
Cover and store in fridge overnight
Preheat oven to 350 degrees
If you want fruit to top the casserol add now
Crumble the topping over the bread
Bake for one hour
Can be served with syrup ( I don't think it needs it)

Next time I would like to try using skim milk, instead of the whole milk and cream, I also used Epicure Apple Pie Spice in the topping and put some cinnamon in the egg mixture.
