Homemade angel food cake recipe

12 egg whites, at room temp
1 cup cake flour
1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
1 1/2 tsp cream of tartar: *Is added to beaten egg whites, to increase their stability and volume*
1/2 tsp almond extract
1 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
1/4 tsp salt

1. *Do NOT geezer the angel food cake pan*

2. 1.Sift the cake flour 3 times... ( to make sure it's lump free)

3. 2.Put egg whites in standing mixer, along with cream of tarter and salt.

4. 3.Mix till nice and frosty. When there, start adding the sugar TBSP at a time.

5. 4.Add vanilla and almond extract.

6. 5.Crack speed to high; till egg whites become stiff peaks and glossy.

7. 6.Take off standing mixer, add in the cake flour, a third at a time, folding in.

8. 7.Pour batter in angel food cake pan. Level as possible.

9. 8.Put in oven, 350* 40 mins till light brown.

10. 9.When done, put the cake on 4 cans and put the cake upside down, and let it cool for an hour or fully cooled.

11. 10.When cooled, remove of cans, take out of pan, put on cake plate and serve.
