Homemade palmier (elephant ear cookies) recipe

2 sheets of puff pastry, thawed
1 cup granulated sugar
1/4 cup raw sugar
1/4 tsp salt
1 zest of orange
1 egg wash: (one egg beaten with a touch of water)

Prep. Time → 15 min

Cook Time → 20 min

1. 1. In a bowl, mix the raw sugar, granulated sugar, salt together.

2. 2.Add orange zest in bowl: mix.

3. 3.Take a baking sheet, and line with parchment paper:

4. 4. Take some of the sugar mixture, and sprinkle on table.

5. 5.Take puff pastry, and place under sugar: take rolling pin, and roll out till inch bigger.

6. 6.Take a pastry brush, and brush egg wash on top of puff pastry:

7. 7.Take sugar mixture, and sprinkle on top of egg wash:

8. 8.Take one side, roll puff pastry into a roll like jelly roll, till you get to them middle: Do other side like jelly roll: till it next to the other one: pinch both tops together.

9. 9.Take knife, and cut an inch on roll: put on baking sheet, side down. Put in freezer and let stay for 15 mins, while preheating oven 375*.

10. 10.Put in oven 20 mins, till golden brown, and let cool compelety.
