homemade soft pretzels recipe

1 1/2 cups water at 110*
1 Tbsp sugar
1 1/2 tsp salt
1 package dry yeast
2 Tbsp melted butter
4 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
8 cups water
1/3 cup baking soda
1 egg wash: (one egg beaten with a touch of water)
1 kosher salt

1. 1. In a standing mixer with a dough hook, add warm water: Add sugar and salt. Add dry yeast and sprinkle on top. Leave alone for 5 mins till yeast is actived.

2. 2.When done, turn on and mix. Start adding flour, one cup at a time.

3. 3.Add meleted butter.

4. 4.When dough comes together, crack up to medium speed, 7 mins.

5. 5.In a bowl, oil with vegetable oil: Take dough, and form into a ball, and put in bowl. Oil the top of dough as well. Cover with plastic wrap, and put in warm place for an
hour: till double in size.

6. 6.Take (2) baking sheets, and spray with non stick spray.

7. 7.In a roasting pan, fill it with the 8 cups of water, and baking soda.
On stove. Let it come to a boil

8. 8.Preheat oven to 450*

9. 9.Flour table: put dough on it. cut it in half, and take one peice, and with
that, cut 8 peices.

10. 10.Take one peice, roll it like a rope; make a U shape, and take bottoms
and pinch it.

11. 11.Line up with baking sheets: Take pretzels (2 at a time) in water,
and let cook for 1 min. and put back on baking sheet.

12. 12.brush with egg wash on top. Sprinkle salt on top.

13. 13.Put in oven, for 12 mins till golden brown.

14. 14.Cool for 10 mins
