Homemade strawberry ice cream recipe

3/4 cup granulated sugar
1 cup whole milk
1 cup heavy cream
5 egg yolks
1 lb fresh strawberries, cleaned and quartered
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp vanilla extract
1 ice cream machine

1. * For Ice cream machine: make sure the inside Inserts go in freezer the night before use*

2. 1. In a sauce pan, on low; add heavy cream and milk; bring to a simmer. Do NOT bring to a boil.

3. 2.In a bowl, add egg yolks and sugar. Whisk to combine.

4. 3.Once heavy cream simmers and hot, add a little to egg yolk mixture; mix.

5. 4.Add egg yolk mixture to heavy cream, on low heat. Cook 5 to 7 mins. or until it thickens; constantly stirring.

6. 5.Pour in bowl, and add a pinch of salt. Add a drop of vanilla extract; stir.

7. 6.Take plastic wrap, and cover it; make sure it's touching the skin custard.

8. 7.Put bowl in fridge, for 5 hours. And let it chill in freezer for 10 mins.

9. 8.In a blender, add fresh strawberries, and puree. When done, strain it with a seize with the custard bowl underneath.

10. 9.When done, stir together: should be a light pink.

11. 10.Pour in Ice cream machine. Turn on, and let go for 25 mins.

12. 11. When done, take all Ice cream out and put in bowl.

13. 12.Add chopped strawberries in the ice cream; mix.

14. 13.Eat or put back in freezer to harden more
