Individual bobotie pots of Forbidden - Recipefy

15ml olive oil
1 onion, chopped
1 garlic cloves, chopped
15ml medium curry powder
1 thick slice white bread, crusts removed
125ml milk
60ml milk
1 red chilli, chopped
60ml vinegar
15ml lemon juice
5ml sugar
30ml chutney
salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
3 large eggs
6 bay leaves
500g beef mince

Prep. Time → 20 min

Cook Time → 40 min

1. preheat oven to 180C.

2. heat oil in large pan. Add onion, garlic and curry powder and fry for 3-4min

3. soak bread in 60ml milk

4. add mince to pan and fry until browned

5. sqeeze milk out of bread and discard milk, add bread to pan

6. add chilli, vinegar, lemon juice, sugar and chutney to mince

7. season and fry for further minute and then remove from heat

8. divide mince mixture among 6 oven proof dishes.

9. combine eggs and 125ml milk and whisk. pour mixture over mince and place a bay leaf on each serving.

10. place on baking tray and bake until bubbling and golden, about 30min
