Savta's Chicken and Dumplings of Ashley - Recipefy

one package of Split Chicken Breasts (With skin. The skin has a good flavor when it cooks).
1 onion
Bisquick
eggs
milk
salt, pepper
Butter or margarine or oil

1. Cut the chick breasts in half so they are not so big.

2. Dice the onion (cut into small pieces)

3. In  a big pot, melt some butter or margarine or use oil.  Not too much.  Just enough to get the bottom of the pan all covered.

4. Add the onion and let it brown, stirring frequently so it doesn't burn.

5. Add the chicken to the pot.

6. Add enough water to cover the chicken completely (like a soup) with enough water that you will also be able to then add the dumplings to the water later.

7. Add some salt and pepper (maybe 1/4 tsp salt and 1/8 tsp pepper.  Taste to see if you need a little more).

8. Cover the pot and let the water boil with the chicken.

9. One it boils reduce the heat a little, keep it covered, and cook the chicken for one hour.

10. BISQUICK DUMPLUNGS:

11. Dumplings: Mix 2 cups Bisquick and ⅔ cup milk until soft dough forms.

12. Drop dough by spoonfuls onto stew (do not drop directly into liquid). Cook uncovered over low heat 10 minutes. Cover and cook 10 minutes longer. Depending on where you live, you may need to add more liquid.

13. Tip: The secret is... DO NOT OVER MIX! and let them set for a few minutes, so they rise.
You make like a dough, and then with a spoon, just PLOP the dough into the water with the chicken.
