Zeppole of Forbidden - Recipefy

2,5ml vanilla paste
125ml castor sugar, plus 45ml
30ml ground cinnamon
130g butter
pinch of salt
250ml water
250ml cake flour
4 large eggs
oil for frying
cinnamon sugar, to serve

Prep. Time → 10 min

Cook Time → 20 min

1. combine vanilla, 125ml ugar and cinnamon together in bowl and set aside

2. using medium saucepan, combine butter, salt, remaining sugar and water over medium heat and bring to boil. remove pan from heat and add flour

3. return saucepan to heat and stir until mixture forms a ball

4. transfer flour mixture to bowl and using electric whisk add eggs one at a time making sure its well combined before adding to next one

5. heat oil in large saucepan and drop tablespoons of batter into oil

6. turn the zeppole a few times during cooking process until golden and puffed

7. remove with slotted spoon and drain on paper towel

8. roll in cinnamon sugar while warm and serve immediately

9. *I found it goes very well with sweetened whipped cream
