Garlic Beer Chicken of Forbidden - Recipefy

Lemon and Garlic oil
500ml canola oil
4-6 cloves garlic
1 lemon, sliced

Garlic Paste
1 head garlic, peeled and crushed
10ml parsley
10ml coarse salt
10ml olive oil

Chicken
1 whole chicken
salt and pepper
1 can (340ml) beer

Prep. Time → 5 min

Cook Time → 90 min

1. Lemon and Garlic oil:
Mix the ingredients and leave to stand for at least a day so flavours can develop.

2. Garlic Paste:
Mix the ingredients and rub the mixture into the chicken. Leave to stand for about 1 hour.

3. Chicken:
Put an opened can of beer halfway into the chicken cavity and place upright on a grid high above medium-hot coals. Baste occasionally with the lemon and garlic oil while roasting. If you're braaiing on an open fire, after 30min cover the chicken with a double layer aluminum foil. Serve with lemon preserves if desired.
