Bread pudding with whiskey sauce

1 loaf French bread, soft 2 cups half and half 2 cups milk 3 eggs 2 cups sugar 3/4 cup chopped pecans 3/4 cup raisins 1 Tbsp. + 1 tsp. vanilla 1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon 1/4 cup melted butter

1. Tear bread into small pieces in a large bowl. Add milks and let stand for 10 minutes. Stir well with a wooden spoon. Add eggs to next 5 ingredients then add to bread mixture. pour butter into a 9x13 pan, coat well. Spoon pudding into pan and bake at 325 for 55 to 60 minutes or until firm. Cool. Cut into squares and top with warm Whiskey Sauce. Whiskey Sauce 1/2 cup butter 1 cup sugar 1/2 cup half and half, cream 2 Tbsp. Whiskey Use a heavy sauce pan over medium heat to bring first 3 ingredients to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 5 minutes. Remove from heat, cool, then add whiskey.
