Almond toffee bars

2 1/3 cups flour 2/3 cup packed light brown sugar 3/4 cup butter 1 egg, beaten 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips, divided 1 cup slivered almonds, divided 1 (14-ounce) can sweetened condensed milk 1 (6-ounce) package toffee bits

1. PREHEAT OVEN TO 350' F. Mix flour and brown sugar in a bowl. Cut in butter, using a pastry blender or 2 knives, until crumbly. Add egg and mix well. Stir in 1 1/2 cups chocolate chips and 1/2 cup almonds. Reserve 1 1/2 cups of the mixture. Press the remaining mixture into a greased 9x13-inch baking pan. Bake for 10 minutes. Pour sweetened condensed milk over the baked layer. Sprinkle with the reserved crumb mixture, toffee bits, remaining almonds and chocolate chips. Bake for about 25 minutes longer or until golden brown.
