3 cups broccoli florets
8 ounces uncooked rigatoni
1 tablespoon butter
1 1/2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1 1/4 cups 2% milk
2 ounces American Cheese, cut into pieces (feel free to use a little more if you like!)
1/4 cup thinly sliced green onions
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
2 slices cooked bacon, crumbled
1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese (again - feel free to use a little more!)

1. Steam the broccoli for about 5 minutes or until it is tender (but not mushy) and drain.

2. In a large sauce pan, cook the pasta in boiling water for about 8 minutes or until your desired texture.

3. Drain and keep pasta warm.

4. Melt butter in the sauce pan over medium heat.

5. Sprinkle the flour over the butter and cook for a minute, stirring constantly with a whisk.

6. Gradually add the milk to the flour mixture in the pan and bring to a boil, stirring constantly with a whisk.

7. Cook for a minute or until slightly thick and remove from the heat.

8. Add the American and Cheddar cheeses and stir until smooth.
