Baked chicory (endive) with ham and cheese

2 heads of white chicory (halved lengthways)
4 large slices of good quality cooked ham
A generous helping of grated cheese (e.g. emmenthal, comte, gruyere, grana padano, gouda, cheddar, jarlsberg or pecorino - or a mixture)
1/2 glass of dry white wine
A glug of extra virgin olive oil
Salt and pepper

Prep. Time → 5 min

Cook Time → 10 min

1. Preheat the oven to 200C (180C fan)

2. Wrap the slices of ham around the 4 halves of lettuce and place cut side down in a roasting tin

3. Pour over the wine and oil. Cover with the cheese

4. Bake for 10 minutes and serve with crusty bread
