Bengali style chana dal recipe with bengal gram or chana dal

1 Cup Chana Dal
1 tsp Ghee
1/2 Cup Coconut, chopped
1 Sticks Cinnamon
1 Bay Leaf
1 Clove
1/4 Cup Raisins
1/2 tsp Turmeric
1/2 tsp Salt
A pinch of Sugar
2 1/2 Cups Water
For Tadka
1 tsp Ghee
1 tsp Cumin Seeds
2 Nos Bay Leaves
2 Nos Cloves
1 Sticks Cinnamon
4 Nos Cardamom
2 Nos Red Chilli Whole

Prep. Time → 15 min

Cook Time → 20 min

1. 1.Soak a cup of chana dal for about ten minutes.Bengali Style Chana Dal
2.Take ghee in a pan and add chopped coconut to it.Bengali Style Chana Dal
3.Pan fry coconut till golden brown.Bengali Style Chana Dal
4.Take soaked chana dal in a pressure cooker.Bengali Style Chana Dal
5.Add cinnamon, clove, bay leaf, raisins, fried coconut, turmeric, salt and sugar to the cooker.Bengali Style Chana Dal
6.Mix thoroughly and add water.Bengali Style Chana Dal
7.Pressure cook it.Bengali Style Chana Dal
Prepare Tadka:
1.Take ghee in a pan, add cumin seeds, bay leaves, cloves, cinnamon, cardamom and red chilli whole.Bengali Style Chana Dal
2.Saute them thoroughly with the ghee.Bengali Style Chana Dal
3.Pour it over the cooked dal in the pressure cooker. Mix well.Bengali Style Chana Dal
4.Serve the Bengali Style Chana Dal hot with garnishing of chopped and fried coconut.
