Cheese, ham & potato au gratin.

4 cups of diced potatoes,
salt
6 tbsp butter divided
2 garlic cloves halfed
1/4 cup chopped oinion
1/3 cup flour ( any flour)
2 cups of milk
2 cups diced cooked ham
8 ounce grated strong cheese, ( about 2 cups) divided.
1 tbsp of fresh chopped parsley,
1 cup of soft fresh bread crumbs.

Prep. Time → 25 mins min

Cook Time → 25 t0 30 mins min

1. 1, heat oven 350 0r gas mark 4. lightly grease a baking dish.

2. 2, in a sauce pan, cover the potatoes with water, & add 1 tsp of salt, boil for about 10mins.

3. 3, in a large sauce pan, on medium heat, melt 4 tbsp of butter, add the garlic & cook for about 1 min, remove the garlic & discard, add the onion & cook, stiring untill the onion is soft, add the flour & cook, stiring untill well blended & bubbly. add the milk & cook, stiring untill thickened. add the ham & 6 ounce of the cheese, ( about 1 to 1/2 cups) cook, stiring untill the cheese is melted, stir in the parsley, gently stir in the potatoes untill well coated, pour in to a baking dish & sprinkle over the rest of the cheese,

4. 4, melt the remaining 2 tbsp of butter & toss with the bread crumbs, sprinkle evenly over the casserole & bake for 25 to 30 mins or untill browned & bubbly.
