Chicken-1/2 kg
For marination
Kashmiri chilli powder-1 tblpsn
Coriander powder-1/2 tblpsn
Turmeric powder-1/2 tspn
Salt
For masala
Onion-2 sliced finely
Small onion-5 crushed
Garlic & ginger- 1 tblpsn each crushed
Green chillies-2 crushed
Tomato-2 small/1 big chopped
Red chilli powder-1 tspn
Coriander powder-2 1/2 tspn
Turmeric powder-1/2 tspn
Garam masala powder-1 tspn
Curry leaves
Cashew & raisins paste-2 tblpsn ( see notes )
Coconut oil
1. Marinate the chicken pieces with ingredients listed under "for marination " and keep for 1-2 hrs.
2. Heat oil in a pan and add sliced onions.Saute till the onions turn golden brown.Then add crushed small onion,ginger,garlic green chillies and curry leaves.Saute till the raw smell goes.Then add tomatoes and cook till they turn soft and mushy.
3. Then add all the masala powders and saute well till oil separates.Add in the chicken pieces,and sprinkle enough salt.Add 1/4-1/2 cup of water,cover and cook till the gravy thickens and the chicken pieces are well cooked.
4. Finally,add cashew and raisins paste,mix well and cook for 2-3 mints.Remove from fire and serve hot.

5. Notes:For cashew & raisins paste,soak 10-15 cashews and 5-6 raisins in water for 10 mints.Then grind it to a smooth paste by adding little water.
