Coconut sour cream cake

My mamma use to make this cake all the time. It is especially good during the summer for a cool dessert. CAKE
1 white cake mix FILLING: 1 cup powdered sugar 1 (14 oz.) pkg. frozen coconut 1 cup granulated sugar 1 ½ cup Cool Whip 16 oz. sour cream

1. Bake cake mix as directed in two 9 inch layers. Cool and slice each layer horizontally, making four layers.Combine powdered sugar, granulated sugar, sour cream and coconut. Reserve one cup for frosting. Fill layers with remaining mixture. Mix reserved mixture with Cool Whip to make frosting. Frost cake. Refrigerate for 3 days before serving.
