Easy travancore style fish curry
Recipe by
Fish(Sardine is best for this curry )-10 cleaned
Coconut-1/2 cup grated
Red chilli powder-3 tspn
Coriander powder-2 tspn
Turmeric powder-1/4 tspn
Fenugreek powder-1/4 tspn
Tamarind juice-from a lemon sized ball
Curry leaves
Oil
Salt
For tempering
Mustard seeds1/4 tspn( or less )
Smallonion- 3 sliced finely

1. Grind together coconut,red chilli powder,coriander powder and turmeric powder to a very fine paste.Add this paste to a curry chatti.
Add approx. 2 cups of water.Keep in the stove and let it boil.Add fenugreek powder,tamarind juice and enough salt.Mix well using a spoon.
Add the fish pieces and curry leaves.After adding fish pieces,don't use spoon.Just swirl the curry chatti/pan once.Then cover and cook till the gravy
thickens and the fish is cooked well.Remove form fire.
2. Now in another pan heat little oil and splutter mustard seeds.Add sliced small onion and curry leaves.Saute till the small onions become golden brown.
Add this to the fish curry,Let it sit for some time.Enjoy with rice/kappa.
