Goan Stuffed Fish fry of Kitchen Snippets - Recipefy

Fish(I used Ayla)-3
Rava/Semolina-1/2 cup
Red chilli powder-1/2 tspn
Salt

For marination

Turmeric powder-1/2 tspn
Salt

For Stuffing

Onion-3 medium
Grated coconut-1/4 cup
Ginger-garlic chopped-1 tspn each
Kashmiri chilli powder-2 tspn
Coriander powder-1 tspn
Turmeric powder-1/4 tspn
Cinnamon -2 very smal sticks
Cumin seeds-1/4 tspn
Tamarind juice-3 to 4 tblpsn(you can add more or less)
Coriander leaves-little chopped
Salt

1. Wash and clean the mackerels /ayla Remove head and fins.Now slit them in the middle,keeping one side closed(as shown in the pic).

2. Make some cuts in the fish and marinate them with turmeric powder and salt.Keep aside.

3. Heat oil in a pan.Add cinnamon stick and cumin seeds and let them splutter.Add onion,ginger, garlic and grated coconut.Saute till they become light brown.
Add chilli powder,coriander powder and turmeric powder.Saute well.Add tamarind juice and chopped coriander.Sprinkle enough salt.Remove from fire.
Let it cool down.Grind it to a coarse paste without adding water.

4. Now stuff the mackerels/ayla with this masala.Close the fish carefully.If there is remaining masala(u will have),spread it outside the fish.Keep for 1 hr.
After 1 hr,mix together rava,chilli powder and salt in a plate .Roll each fish in rava mix carefully.

Heat oil in a pan and fry the fish in low-medium flame.Fry on both sides.Remove from fire and enjoy
