for pie crust: (2 pie crusts) top and bottom of pie
1 1/2 cups all purpose flour: cold
5 Tbsp cold butter, cut into cubes
1/4 cup cold vegetable shortening, cut into cubes
1/2 tsp salt
1 Tbsp Splenda sugar
1 3 to 5 tbsp of cold ice water: with ice cubes

(for the apple pie filling;)
6 golden apples: peeled, sliced, and cut
3/4 cup Splenda sugar
2 Tbsp flour
1 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp nutmeg
1/4 tsp salt
1 orange zest
1 egg wash: (one egg beaten with a touch of water)
1 Tbsp juice of lemon

1. * This can be done with store pie crust or homemade pie crust*

2. 1.(Whenever making pie crust, you want all your Ingredients cold: including flour: you need cold ingredients to make good crust)'

3. 2.Put flour,butter, vegetable shortening,sugar: in food processor until the shorting butter are the size of peas:

4. 3.Take out of food processor, and put in bowl: add/ mix the water 1 tbsp at a time,until it stays together:

5. 4.Take 2 plastic wrap for separate pie crusts:

6. 5.put the crust mixture in the middle of plastic wrap: work with it in the plastic wrap,till it turns into a ball. Wrap it tight: put in fridge for 35 mins.:

8. 1.Peel and slice apples: put in bowl. Pour over lemon juice over it, so apples won't turn brown when it bakes:

9. 2.Toss to mix. Put in sugar, cinnamon, salt, and nutmeg. Flour: mix well. Let everything coat:

10. 3.take a 9" pie plate, spray with non stick spray, set aside. Put flour on table, put pie crust on it. Put some flour on top of the pie crust: take rolling pin, and roll it out. Work from center out:

11. 4.put the pie crust over pie plate: make sure that there's 1 inch over hanging the sides of the pie plate: work it in inside of the pie plate to make even:

12. 5.pour apples in pie plate: take egg wash, and do around the outside pie: take another flour on table and put other pie crust on it: flour it: roll it out:

13. 6.take the top crust,and put over pie crust. Stick it together. Cut off endings: but make sure you have endings left to stick together with the bottom.

14. 7.Take the two endings, crimp them together ^ tuck them under: take fingers and crimp the cricle edges: take a small knife and make 4 slits, in the middle. Take egg wash and put all over top pie crust:

15. 8.sprinkle sugar on top: take baking sheet lined with foil, and put pie on it.

16. 9.put in preheat oven 425*, about an hour: it should be deep golden brown: check it every 15 mins: if the pie crust broader starts to get too crispy, add foil on it:

17. 10.when done, let cool 15 mins.
