Kande Pohe/Poha/Aval of Kitchen Snippets - Recipefy

Thick poha/aval-1 1/2 cup
Mustard seeds-1/4 tspn
Cumin seeds-1/4 tspn
Hing/kayam-a pinch
Onion-1 chopped
Ginger-1 tspn
Green chillies-2 chopped
Curry leaves
Turmeric powder-1/2 tspn
Coriander-cumin powder-1/4 tspn
Lemon juice-2 tblspn
Coriander leaves -chopped
Roasted peanuts-3 tblpsn
Salt
Ghee/oil

1. Wash poha in cold water 2-3 times.Then soak in very little water for abiut 10 mints. (just to immerse poha ; so for 1 cup of poha use only 3-4 tblspn water )
Then poha will become soft but each flake will remain separate.Just spread it in a tray and keep aside.

2. Heat oil or ghee in a pan and splutter mustard seeds and cumin seeds.then add chopped onion,ginger and green chillies.Saute for about 1 mint.Then add hing and the masala powders in low flame.To this add curry leaves,coriander leaves and poha.Add lemon juice ,sprinkle enough salt and mix well.Finally add in the roasted peanuts and mix well.Cover the pan and remove from fire.Let it sit for mints.Serve hot with any pickle of your choice.

3. Notes:Poha is easily available in all Indian Grocery stores.You can find two varieties of poha,thick and thin.Always make sure to use "thick poha " for making these kind of dishes like kande pohe or aloo pohe.
