1 lb ground beef
1 cup chopped onions
2 tablespoons butter
1 teaspoon garlic salt
1 (48 oz) jar Ragu
Salt
Pepper
1 teaspoon oregano
1 lb lasagna noodles
Olive oil
1 lb ricotta cheese
3/4 lb mozzarella, shredded
3/4 cup grated parmesan

1. Melt the butter in a skillet over medium high heat. Add the ground beef and the onions. Saute for about 8 minutes or until onions are soft and ground beef is cooked through, stirring to break up beef.

2. Add garlic salt, Ragu, salt, and pepper. Stir and simmer for about 20 minutes.

3. Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Add the lasagna noodles and cook for 15 minutes. Drain, rinse, and drizzle with olive oil.

4. Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

5. Grease the bottom of a 9 inch square deep baking dish (or a longer but shallower dish).

6. Make a layer of noodles on the bottom of the pan, top with about a quarter of the meat/tomato sauce mixture. Add 1/3 of the ricotta and parmesan cheese, and 1/4 of the mozzarella.

7. Repeat the layering 2 more times, ending with a layer of bare noodles (you will have 4 layers of noodles and 3 layers of sauce/cheese).

8. On top of the bare noodles, spread the remaining meat/tomato sauce and the rest of the mozzarella cheese.

9. Bake at 375 degrees for an hour, keep an eye on it towards the end and cover with a piece of tin foil if the cheese on top is getting too dark. Let set for about 15 minutes prior to slicing.
