75g (2 1/2 oz) plain chocolate.
250g (8 oz) caster sugar.
4 eggs, lightly beaten.
200g (7 oz) self raising flour.
large pinch of salt
2 tbsp soured cream
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 1/2 tbsp cocoa powder

for the chocolate icing
85g (3 oz) plain chocolate
3tbsp milk
2 tbsp golden syrup

Prep. Time → 25 min

Cook Time → about 1 hour min

1. Preheat the oven to 180 C / 350 F/ gas mark 4. Lightly grease a Bundt tin 21 1/2 cm (8 1/2in) across and 10 cm (4 in) high.

2. Melt the chocolate in a bowl set over a pan of water. Then set it aside to cool.

3. Cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.

4. Beat in the eggs, a little at a time. If the curdles (separates) add a spoonful of floor and carry on beating.

5. Then sift over the flour and slat. Fold this in, then add the soured cream and fold this in too.

6. Dived the mixture equally between two bowls. Stir the vanilla into one of the bowls of mixture.

7. Add the cocoa powder and chocolate to the other bowl. Stir to combine.

8. Put alternating spoonfuls of chocolate and vanilla in the tin. You can do this two layers, if you like.

9. Use a skewer or wooden spoon to swirl the mixtures into each other for a marble effect. Bake for 50 to 55 minutes or until the cake is risen and firm yo touch.

10. Cool in the tin for 20 minutes. Then turn out onto a cooling rack and leave to cool completely before icing.

11. HOW TO MAKE CHOCOLATE ICING

12. FOR THE ICING- Put the chocolate, milk, and golden syrup into a heatproof bowl set over a pan of simmering water. Leave to melt stirring occasionally. Then cool the icing slightly and drizzle it over the cake.
