Meen moru curry/fish in yogurt gravy
Recipe by
Fish-2 cut into pieces( I used Ayala/mackerel)
Curd-3/4 cup( use curd that is not very sour)
Small onion-5 chopped
Green chilli-1 sliced
Curry leaves
To grind
Coconut-1/2 cup grated
Cumin seeds-1/2 tspn
Fennel seeds-1/4 tspn( u can use powder also)
Red chilli powder-2 1/2 tspn( add according to your taste)
Turmeric powder-1/2 tspn
Ginger-a small piece
To temper
Oil-1 tspn
Small onion-1 sliced
Curry leaves
1. Grind the ingredients listed to a smooth paste.
2. In a manchatti/pan,add chopped small onion,green chilli and curry leaves.Add little water and salt.Cover and cook in medium flame
till the onion becomes soft and transparent.Add the prepared paste.Mix everything well.Add 1 to 1 1/2 cups of water.Cover and
let it boil.Now add the fish pieces.Simmer the flame and cook till the fish pieces are cooked well and gravy is thick enough.
Finally,add curd.Mix very carefully( without breaking the fish pieces).Switch off the flame before the grvay starts to boil.
3. Now in another pan,heat 1 tspn oil.Add sliced small onion and curry leaves.Let the onions become brown.Add this to the fish curry.
Serve hot.
