Meringue shells

Ingredients for 12 - 3" shells
4 egg whites
1 T vanilla
1/8 t cream of tartar
1 cup minus 1 T sugar

Directions
1. Heat oven to 225 degrees
2. Beat egg whites til foamy. Add vanilla, cream of tartar and sugar. Continue to beat until peaks form.
3. Shape into swirls on heavy brown paper on cookie sheet.
4. Bake 1 hour. Cool in oven with door cracked for 1 hour.
5. Serve under ice cream.
6. Note: My family loves these topped with vanilla ice cream and Hot Fudge Sauce.
