Mini spiced fishcake bites of Forbidden - Recipefy

400g petite hake fillets
2 spring onions, chopped
juice and zest of 1 lime
2,5ml dried chilli flakes
80ml fresh coriander, chopped
half small red onion, finely chopped
75ml cake flour
1 large egg, beaten
salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
extra virgin olive oil for frying

Soy dipper
125ml soy sauce
half red chilli, deseeded and finely chopped
80ml fresh coriander, finely chopped
1 large cucumber, shaved into ribbons and julienne, to serve
125ml fresh mint leaves, to serve

Prep. Time → 20 min

Cook Time → 20 min

1. fishcakes:
remove skin from fillets, place in food processor to blitz

2. spoon into large bowl and add remaining ingredients except for olive oil. Mix well

3. heat oil in pan over medium heat, drop spoon-fulls of mixture and fry batches of fishcakes bites until golden, about 3min each side

4. remove with slotted spoon, drain on paper towel and set aside

5. for dipping sauce:
combine sow sauce, chilli and coriander in small bowl

6. to serve:
place cucumber ribbons on serving plate, scatter with fresh mint leaves and top with fishcake bites

7. serve with soy sauce dipper
