Netholi thoran
Recipe by Kitchen Snippets
1.Netholi-100 gm(cleaned and deboned )
Mustard seeds-1/4 tspn
Onion-1 chopped
Ginger-1 tblpsn
Garlic-1tblspn
Green chilli-2 chipped
Tomato-1 small chopped
Oil
2.Grated coconut-1/4-1/2 cup
Red chilli powder-1/2-3/4 tspn
Small onion-1
Tamarind-goosberry sized ball
Salt
1. Grind/crush the ingredients listed under No.2 coarsely.
2. Heat oil in a pan and splutter mustard seeds.Add chopped onion and saute till they turn transparent.Then add ginger,garlic,curry leaves and green chilies.Saute till the raw smell goes.
3. Add chopped tomatoes and saute till they starts to become soft(no need to make them mushy ).Then add the netholi pieces and coconut mixture.
Mix well carefully,with out breaking netholi pieces.
Add little 1/4 cup water ,sprinkle enough salt,cover and cook till the water dries up.(Aprox. 5-10 mints )Keep in low flame and stir gently occassionally.
4. Finally,pour tspn oil to the thoran ,mix well and remove from fire.
Serve hot with rice.
