Peas pulao
Recipe by
Basmati rice – 1 1/2 cup
Hot water-3 1/2 cup
Onion (medium size) – 1
Green peas – 3/4 cup half cooked
Green chillies -3
Ginger garlic paste – 1 1/2 tbsp
Cloves – 3
Cardamom – 2
Cinnamon stick – 1″
Oil – 2 tbsp
Ghee – 2 tbsp
Salt to taste
1. 1.Soak the basmati rice in water for 20 mins.
2. 2.Heat oil in a pan and add half of whole masala( cardamom, cinnamon and cloves.) and saute well
3.Now add the onions,split green chillies and ginger-garlic paste and suate till the raw smell goes.
3. 4 Now add the half cooked peas and grated carrots and mix well with the masala. Remove from heat.
4. 5.Now heat ghee in a pan, add the remaining whole masala..Drain water and add rice to the pan .Fry till the rice starts cracking.
5. 6 Add the peas masala to the pan and combine with rice.
6. 7.Add hot water ,sprinkle enough salt, cover cook in low flame till the rice and peas are well cooked.
7. Serve hot with veg/non-veg curry.
8. Notes:I have used 3 1/2 cup of water ( For 1 cup of rice 3 cups of water ) for cooking rice.But the amount of water varies depending upon the basmati rice you are using.Try to use good quality basmati rice.I have used 1/2 cup grated carrot in this recipe. But that's optional.
