1 cucumber
1/2 tsp salt

Marinade
1 dl clear vinegar
1 tbsp water
1 1/2 tbsp granulated sugar
Pepper

VARIATION: Add pickling spices to the marinade - either a ready made mix or spices such as dill, red pepper, chili, juniper berries, and bay leaves.

Prep. Time → 5 min

Cook Time → 45 min

1. Cut the cucumber into thin slices and spread the salt ove the slices. Leave to rest for at least 10 minutes and drip off excess water in a sieve.

2. Heat up water and sugar until the sugar is dissolved. Pour in the vinegar and remove from the heat.

3. Pour the marinade over the cucumber slices in a bowl and leave to rest for at least 30 minutes. Serve with liver pate, crispy pot roast chicken, frikadeller or fried sausages (e.g. Cumberland, medister or bratwurst)
