Do my recipes have to be my original recipe, or can I upload a recipe to my box from the web?

You can write your own recipes or upload recipes from the web. If from the web you should enter the web address in the original author field.
Would it be possible to link to recipes elsewhere on the web that you have done and liked rather than having to re-type (and possibly infringe others copyright) ?
