Sort of apple crumble thingy with bread and coconut!!!

2 large bramley apples peeled, cored and sliced into 1/2cm pieces
4 slices of white bread, crusts removed and cut into 2cm squares
4 tbsp Demerara sugar
1 tbsp desiccated coconut
25g melted butter
1/2tsp ground cinnamon
2tbsp of water

Prep. Time → 10 min

Cook Time → 30 min

1. preheat over to 180•c

2. in a saucepan place the sliced apples, 3tbsp of the Demerara sugar, cinnamon and water then bring to the boil, reduce heat and simmer for approx 5mins until some of the apples break up.

3. place the bread pieces in a bowl and pour over the melted butter, toss to coat the bread in the butter then add and mix in the remaining Demerara sugar and coconut.

4. place the apple mixture in an oven proof dish and top with the bread topping then bake for about 25mins until the topping is golden brown.

5. serve with custard, cream or icecream :)
