Tamilnadu style Potato Poriyal of Kitchen Snippets - Recipefy

Potatoes-3
Turmeric powder-1/2 tspn
Sambar powder-2 tspn
Urad dal/uzhunnu parippu-1 tspn
Mustard seeds-1/4 tspn
Oil
Salt

1. Peel and cut potatoes into small cubes.Heat oil in a pan and splutter mustard seeds and urad dal.When urad dal changes colour to light brown,add potatoes and turmeric powder.Mix well,add little water( around 3-4 tblpsn ) and enough salt.Cover and cook for 4-5 mints.
Then add sambar powder,mix well and till the potatoes are well cooked.Remove from fire.

2. Enjoy with plain rice,curd,rasam and some veg side dish.

what is it supposed to taste like ? never heard of most of these ingredients.
