Tuna Tataki of jenn - Recipefy

Tuna steak

1/2 cup sesame seeds

Marinade
1 cup soy sauce
1 pinch paprika
2 tsp grated ginger
1 tsp wasabi powder
1-2 pinches shichimi togarashi (7 Japanese spice blend)
Lime zest

1. Combine all marinade ingredients in a bowl, according to spice preference.

2. Wash and dry tuna steak. Spread sesame seeds on a plate. Roll the tuna steak on the sesame seeds to coat the sides but not the ends.

3. Add tuna to a very hot pan without oil. Sear for 30 seconds on each side, leaving the inside raw. Add the tuna to the marinade bowl and roll around to cover. Cover bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for 2-3 hours or overnight, rotating occasionally.

4. Remove from refrigerator and slice tuna in 1cm thick slices. Arrange on a plate and use the remaining marinade as a dip.
