Classic lasagne

olive oil
1 onion, finely chopped
3 cloves garlic, chopped
half cut grated carrot
2 cans chopped tomato
3 tablespoons tomato paste
1 cup water
half cup red wine
2 teaspoons beef stock powder
1 tablespoon sugar
1 tablespoon dried oregano
salt and ground pepper, to taste
750ml white sauce
500g lasagne pasta sheets
1 cup grated cheddar

Preparazione → 20 min

Cottura → 120 min

1. Heat a bit of olive oil in a large saucepan. Brown meat and vegetables.

2. Add remaining ingredients and allow to simmer for 1 hour, stirring occasionally and adding more water if needed.

3. Layer meat, sauce, paste sheets and white sauce in two alternating layers.

4. Top with cheese and allow to stand for 15min.

5. Bake at 180C for 30-45min, or until pasta is tender and top is well browned.
