Mexican cornbread

1 cup yellow cornmeal 1 cup milk 2 eggs, beaten ½ tsp. soda ¾ tsp. salt ½ cup bacon grease 1 can cream style corn 1 lb. ground beef 1 onion, chopped 1 lb. cheese 4 to 5 jalapenos, chopped

1. Combine cornmeal, milk, eggs, salt, soda, bacon grease, and corn in mixing bowl and set aside. Sauté ground beef until brown. Drain and set aside. pour half of cornmeal mixture into a greased 9x13 pan. Sprinkle with meat, cheese, onion and jalapenos. Pour remaining cornmeal batter over top. Bake at 325 for 50 minutes.
