Slow cooker pulled pork
2.5-3 lbs of boneless pork (tenderloin, shoulder)
1 or 2 cans of root beer
1 medium onion (we always use sweet onions)
1 bottle BBQ sauce (if desired)
Garlic, chopped or grated, to taste
Spice mixture (whatever you want, really, but this worked well)
Cayenne pepper, sugar, garlic, salt, paprika (smoked, if you got it), onion powder, black pepper
Prep. Time → 10 min
Cook Time → 600 min
1. Line bottom of slow cooker crock with onion and garlic. Cover pork in spice mix and place on top of onion, then cover with root beer.
2. Cook on Low for 6-8 hours. Drain liquid and then shred meat with a pair of forks. Add BBQ sauce if desired.
